Can I grow aloe in a pot?

Yes. Use a draining pot, cactus mix, and keep the lowest leaves above the mix. Compact kinds are the usual start.

What mix does a potted aloe need?

Use cactus mix, or potting mix cut with sand, pumice, or perlite. Peat-heavy mix stays wet and the crown rots.
